Summer Institute

Each summer elementary teachers and teaching artists work together for a week-long intensive training and planning experience to explore the qualities of artistic and educational resources that are relevant to students.  They develop learning objectives, synthesize artistic and curricular elements for units of study, and determine the best possible approaches to assessing student learning and their own professional progress.

The peer-to-peer approach used for these institutes requires every participant to understand how 21st Century Skills of communication, collaboration, critical thinking, and creativity (we call these the 4Cs) can be developed for adults and children alike.
